International Code Council- WCOA is a Wisconsin Chapter member of The International Code Council, the largest building and safety code organization dedicated to protecting the property, health and safety of people worldwide.
- Wisconsin is a member of the ICC Upper Great Plains Region III chapter along with Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. In 2003, ICC created 12 Regions to encourage the formation of Regional Chapters. There are significant benefits for state and local chapters to participate at the region level. Regional chapters can create stronger more unified networks of building safety professionals, provide greater political strength when addressing code adoption and code development issues, and deal more effectively with state legislators. Upper Great Plains Region III holds a week long educational institute annually in Minnesota which attracts hundreds of code officials from the five state area.
